RE:SYSTEMS in South Africa

Following the success for the recent Air Rail Event in Edinburgh attended by RE:SYSTEM's and client partner Heathrow Express, RE:SYSTEM's has been invited to South Africa to investigate and present online ticketing solutions to Gautrain, a rapid state-of-the-art rail link network in Gauteng, South Africa.

RE:SYSTEM's and Gautrain were introduced at the Air Rail Event in Edinburgh, where Heathrow Express were presenting a RE:SYSTEM's online ticketing case study.

Steve England, Founder, RE:SYSTEM's said, 'Meeting Barabara Jensen (Gautrain) at the Air Rail Event in Edinburgh and her subsequent invitation to present to her team in Johannesburg was an opportunity not to be missed. Our initial presentation was well received and now we've been invited back to present a further proposal'.

He added, 'Our return visit will be at the end of May 2010 to present a more detailed online ticketing solution meeting all their necessary requirements for the Gautrain Bombela Concession. The opportunity is very exciting for our business and could well result in setting up a joint venture business in South Africa in order to run the project'.

The Gautrain Rapid Rail Link is a state-of-the-art rapid rail network planned in Gauteng. The rail connection comprises of two links, namely a link between Pretoria and Johannesburg and a link between OR Tambo International Airport and Sandton.

The Gautrain Rapid Rail Link project offers a cost effective, efficient, environmentally friendly and safe solution to some of the worst transport problems in the most densely developed area in Gauteng and indeed South Africa. It also supports many other government objectives.

The Project is now managed as part of the Gauteng Department of Transport. Gautrain was initiated as one of eleven Blue IQ projects of the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG).
